Edge-Up Employability Programme 2024
A total of 144 people can participate in the 5-day employability programme during a two-week period. The program lasts for 12 months. Upon program completion, participants gain the chance to engage in work practice or job shadowing across various organizations. A total of 12 groups are formed with an average of 12 people. The groups are held in Russian and English.

WHO CAN TAKE PART?
The programme is designed for people with a refugee background in Estonia to support their employment journey here.
This program is suitable for two age groups: individuals up to the age of 25 and those who are 55 years or older, regardless of their work experience or current employment status in Estonia. The requirement is to register through our platform and respond to the questionnaire. We will contact each registered candidate promptly and provide feedback.
We’re welcoming you from every location in Estonia! A large part of the activities take place physically in Tallinn, the transportation and accommodation costs to on-site events in Tallinn will be reimbursed. Participation is free. The program is held in English and Russian languages.

An introductory webinar series is open for everyone interested to learn more about the Empowering Refugees Employability Programme and the labor environment of Estonia.

TRAINING PROGRAMME
Employability training modules are a chance to get to know more about the Estonian labor market and possibilities for finding work here. Also you get to work with your work related goals and fears, develop skills for holding motivation, develop your own work CV and motivation letter, practice interviews and much more. All these activities are supported by experienced trainers and psychologists with the additional benefits of having new like-minded friends through this program.
The training sessions will occur over a 12-month period in Tallinn or in Tartu. Each participant will engage in 5 day training during two weeks as part of the employability program. During training participants will also have homework assignments.
The opening day of the program will take place virtually on the 20th of June via Zoom.
The training modules are as follows (NB! the order of the modules may change):
- module - overview of the application process and job search opportunities. Introduction to the documents required for a successful application. Overview of different CV submission platforms and types of interviews.
- module - overview of national labour market policies, main national institutions supporting workers, legal bases, and legislation. Experience stories and advice from HR specialists.
- module - supporting the participant's personality. Analysis of strengths, and skills. Supporting self-management skills. Coping in communication and supporting intrinsic motivation.
- module - psychological support for the participant to successfully find his/her place in the labour market.
- module - interview process and stages. Practice. Putting into practice the knowledge acquired - role plays, simulation of job interviews, group interviews etc.
The programme welcomes participants from all over Estonia. A large part of the activity takes place in Tallinn or Tartu, but if necessary, transport and accommodation costs are reimbursed to the participants. Participation is free and the programme is held in Russian and English.

JOB-SHADOWING
After finishing the training programme, those who are interested, may have the opportunity to apply to participate in job-shadowing local companies. The internships and job-shadowing are a good opportunity to have hands-on experience at a job and to add experience to your resume. Information about job-shadowing opportunities will be presented during the training.
The program is carried out by the Estonian Refugee Council. The programme is funded by the European Regional Development Fund under the Central Baltic Programme.
